Seven Veils (March 7)
Amanda Seyfried stars in this Canadian drama. Seven Veils follows Jeanine (Seyfried), a theater director, as she produces her former mentor’s prized opera, Salome. This sounds like a normal task but when her unfortunate memories start to flood her, the task proves to have its challenges. If you’ve seen director, Atom Egoyan’s, Chloe, then you’ll understand the magic that he and Seyfried can create together. So, take the time to support this amazing film in theaters this month.
Queen of the Ring (March 7)
Just in time for Women’s History Month! This film highlights the dynamic life of Mildred Burke, the American professional wrestler. A pioneer of her time, Burke, played by Emily Bett Rickards, was considered one of the toughest competitors of the sport. Based on the book The Queen of the Ring: Sex, Muscles, Diamonds, and the Making of an American Legend by Jeff Leen, this film brings her life story and some much-appreciated humor to life. If you’re ready to be inspired by a strong woman in history, this is the film for you. Fight your way into theaters to see Queen of the Ring this month!
OPUS (March 14)
The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri stars in this cult thriller. Edebiri plays Ariel Ecton, a young writer, who is permitted to interview a legendary pop star (Alfred Moretti) on his property. But things get weird when the star who disappeared from the spotlight 30 years prior introduces Ariel to what is undoubtedly a cult living on his remote estate. If you’re in the mood for a weird and anxiety-inducing thriller, look no further than OPUS.
Snow White (March 21)
The highly anticipated live adaptation of Snow White is finally making its way to theaters! Rachel Zegler (Snow White) and Gal Gadot (the Evil Queen) will play their famous roles in the age-old story of a young girl trying to escape her evil stepmother. We all know the story so there’s not much to say here except that you’re never too old for fairy tales. So don’t be ashamed to glide your way into theaters to see Snow White later this month.
Magazine Dreams (March 21)
It’s great to see Jonathan Majors back on the silver screen! And this time he’s playing the fictional character Killian Maddox as he strives to become a professional bodybuilder. Socially awkward and obsessed with making his dreams come true, Killian tries to care for his ailing grandfather while keeping his eye on the prize. If you’d like to see Jonathan Majors in this comeback role you can do so this month.
Death of a Unicorn (March 28)
What would you do if you saw a unicorn in person? Well, Ridley (Jenna Ortega) and her father Elliot (Paul Rudd) aren’t too sure either. After accidentally hitting and killing one with their car they quickly learn that these mythical creatures are darker than they had ever imagined. This is only exacerbated when a billionaire family tries to exploit the creatures for their healing properties. Your guess is as good as ours about what happens next. So carefully run to theaters to find out how it all turns out.
Woman in the Yard (March 28)
If you’re in the mood for a creepy Blumhouse film, this is for you! Woman in the Yard is about just that. A woman in the yard. However, this particular uninvited woman, dressed in all black, sits in the yard of Ramona (Daniele Deadwyler) and her 2 kids giving ominous warnings and messages without explanation. What she wants and when she will leave is just as unclear as her intentions. Find out the meaning behind the warnings in theaters at the end of this month.
Hell of a Summer (April 4)
This snarky slasher film feels like an ode to the traditional summer camp nightmare. When Jason (Fred Hechinger) returns to Camp Pineway as an adult camp counselor, he is thrilled. That is until he and the younger counselors that he manages realize that there is a masked slasher picking the staff off one by one. Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard also stars in the teen slasher. So, if you seek a modern version of the theatrical camp horrors we grew up with, look no further than Hell of a Summer.
Drop (April 11)
Are you in the mood for a psychological thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat? Well, Drop is for you. What happens when you go on a first date and while you’re having a great time, you receive threatening airdrop messages? Once you realize the unknown perpetrator is inside of your house with your son and has eyes inside the restaurant you’re in as well as your home, you try to get help… But that’s against the rules. From the director of Happy Death Day and in true Blumhouse fashion, Drop will have your heart sinking into your gut as your anxiety intensifies with this thriller. To see how it all ends, be sure to hit theaters in April.
Sinners – (April 18)
Ryan Coogler takes his first shot at horror with Sinners. This film will allow you to see Michael B. Jordan like you’ve never seen him before. Jordan, who is playing the role of twin brothers, Elijah and Elias in 1930s Mississippi, will take your breath away with this interesting change from the norm. When these twin brothers return home to Mississippi for a fresh start, they discover there’s an evil there that neither one of them can explain. It is an interesting crossover of the history of the Jim Crow South and supernatural horror. Don’t miss out on Sinners!
The Accountant 2 (April 25)
This is the only sequel on the list. But if you’ve seen The Accountant, you’ll understand why The Accountant 2 has made its way to this list. This is a spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the first installment. After reuniting with his brother Brax (Jon Bernthal), he and Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) join forces with Agent Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) to solve the murder of Ray King (J.K. Simmons). It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. So, if you haven’t already, be sure to watch The Accountant, and then make a calculated decision to see this sequel next month.
