If you have been meaning to diversify your music tastes or are in the mood for discovery, compiled here are five underrated artists that deserve a spot in your daily music rotation.

PAMÉ

Dominican singer-songwriter, PAMÉ, not only has a bewitching voice but superbly blends Latin style music with essences of trap like beats. PAMÉ, who was raised in the Bronx, New York and born in the Dominican Republic, according to Sound Exchange, has a wide range of music tastes and would describe her overall sound as sexy and edgy. In her music, she combines both Spanish and English to deliver a fresh and cool sound that succeedingly helps her stand out from the pack. Her latest released single, “Lágrimas de Cocodrilo,” which came out earlier this year in April, is nothing short of a sensual Spanglish gem that begs listeners to start moving.

Aedan Alvarez

Aedan Alvarez posted his first ever YouTube video as a little boy 10 years ago covering the widely known Disney hit “Let It Go” from the popular movie Frozen. Since then he has posted an assortment of musical videos to his YouTube channel and TikTok page ranging in content  from his own original songs to mashups and to covers of sensations such as “Traitor” by Olivia Rodrigo, but with his seemingly signature twist, changing the perspective of the song as if it “was written by a gay kid.” Alvarez has an undeniably smooth voice and tone that seems to be geared towards the stylistic choices of R&B, with all of it on full display in one of his most popular releases “Natural Disaster” that features his effortless vocals and nothing but an acoustic guitar.

Tyla Jane

With her sweet yet full-bodied voice, Australian singer Tyla Jane is a newcomer who is breaking onto the pop inspired scene escorted by her entertaining and confidence boosting releases like “Flawless” and “Coffee.” Her most popular song, “Energy,” is an instant pop classic with a powerful message of protecting one’s peace and also of body positivity. Jane’s remarkable talent lies in producing groovy and fun songs that persuade the listener to not only feel good about themselves but to also get up and dance.

Felix Ames

Milwaukee native and R&B and soul influenced musician, Felix Ames, is a quietly powerful star. His music is unmistakably catchy, vibey and reminiscent of an older era, with songs “SPF” and “Mr. Weatherman,” Ames capitalizes on his passionately expressive sound. According to On Milwaukee, Ames’ debut album titled “JENA” which was recently released this past May, is just the start for this rising singer.

Kate Stewart

London born singer Kate Stewart has a distinctly ‘90s and early 2000s vocal tone that is reminiscent of legendary pop divas much like Mariah Carey. Stewart has a wide and beautiful singing range with riffs and runs of plenty on her hits “He’s Good” and “Distraction.” Her newly released album, “Solace,” which came out July 19, 2024, shows the growing artist in a maturer and more alluring light than her past project. Stewart’s R&B, pop and soul elements infuse delightfully into an amalgamation of pure auditory bliss.
